Sim Card- How to know if TomTom services are working

Tom Tom 5200. How do I tell that the sim card is working and updating traffic info. I live in Spain and traffic does not jam up like UK so there is never much to display.

    As long as the circled icon doesn't appear in the top right, you have a data connection and therefore will be receiving traffic info.
