Tom Tom Via 1515- device will not charge

My device will not charge. Will not charge on car plug in or on computer plug in.
Why? What can I do??
I called the Tom Tom Trouble Line only to be offered a 25% discount to purchase a new device. So much for technical support !

Anyone have an idea on what I can do ???

    Are you using the cable that came with the device? Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.

    I am using the cable.
    Also have reset at least a dozen times.

    The battery may be shot in the device.

    Thank you. I figured this was the problem. Tom Tom needs to do better with there call center people.
