Cannot connect to iPhone after watch update

This weekend I have updated the watch (Runner 4) to the latest version (now on 1.7.62). Since then it's not possible to connect to my iPhone (X) anymore. Tried to remove watch as paired device from my phone and also did factory reset on my watch. Still not working.

What happens:
  1. In the iPhone app I go to option to add watch (start looking for watch)
  2. On my watch I also go to the option of adding phone
  3. iPhone finds my watch --> I press the watch button in the app
  4. Watch shows bluetooth pairing number
  5. I enter the number on my iPhone
  6. Watch goes back to main menu. Phone continues to show screen searching for watch.
I have repeated that multiple times know and it always goes like that.

Please help out.
