Trouble updating my TomTom Via 280

Hi, I recently went to do an update but the update doesnt work and now theres no maps on the TomTom device!
I have rebooted it, reconnected the device to MyDrive connect, tried another computer but the same problem.
I think the Device may be broken? It all works apart from saying no maps showing and my drive connect wont update it.

I Am having the same trouble with my tom tom start 50 i tried to download the latest map update V10.05 and it now says the same no maps on my device i haven't tried rebooting my device yet if you do find a soulutuion please let me know.0 -

No different, it connects to the laptop fine. This is what comes up, the "we are busy right now" isnt often. This is what it does every time.0

I have tried to update my TomTom Via 280 with no luck, the download starts for about 1 minute then i get the same errors as Cinta in this thread.
Have submitted request to support no response. How do you get these to connect successfully and update. My maps are corrupt and need to be reinstalled as well as the firmware..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -

This main issue is i cannot get mydrive to stay connected to the device. It connects for no longer than 1 minute then i get an error.

Are your USB ports set for power saving "USB Selective Suspend"

Also turn off any Screen savers any other Power savers or USB port monitoring software installed0 -

Which antivirus / malware software are you running?
What else is running while you try to use MDC?
