unable to connect / download update

I have installed MyDrive Connect on my PC and paid for an updated map but when I click on the My Connect nothing happens. My device is being picked up by my computer but I can't get the update to run. I keep getting a red cross on the device screen. I have tried 2 different usb cables and 2 different ports. A bit annoying that there is no way to contact TomTom direct with this issue.
