RIDER 2nd edition- partial voice commands

Why does my device only give partial voice commands?
Instead of saying "at the next rounderbout turn left" it just says "left"
Or another example.
Instead of telling me "after 50 yards turn right" it just says "right"
Sometimes it dont even give directions.
Also the audiable warnings have stoped sounding.
I know its a few years old now but surely it shouldnt just stop talking.

Have you tried doing a reset. If it's a sonic hold the no/off button down until the warning light flashes rapidly red/blue while it is near the R2

    Hi
    @ EdCase
Have you tried a Drum roll start to re-boot the Tomtom device ????
Charge the device for at least 2Hrs "OR" have the device plugged into a power supply
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like re-booting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles......

Note: - Some early Tomtom models have a reset button for more Info see.....

Thanks for the fast replies, I've just done a reset using the link above and a paper clip.
I'll give it a try and let you know if it has fixed my problem
