Connecting phone - Why so many steps?

I've been using my new Go 1005 for a couple of weeks (upgraded from the 540) and as well as blocking the automatic connect to phone function (why people would complain that they don't like this is beyond me - surely switching off phone's bluetooth is an instant solution to that one!), it takes something like seven steps to connect the phone and another two to get back to navigation... Does anybody else find this frustrating? Even if the phone setting was moved to the first menu page that would be something...
