one update worked perfectly, but the europe ireland and buildings update has loaded on to my computer but for some reason when it starts loading on to my device there is no percentage of upload and I left it all night to no effect, I have an empty 32 GB sim card that the device formatted and is empty. I have reset my device to no effect.
It actually said there was enough space on my device but nothing is happening. can anyone help

    Hi
    @Moira2
    Re... 8GB NAV4 Device's & Catch22...
The early Maps fitted easily onto 8 GB on-board Memory like your NAV4 GO 5000, but the Map sizes increases with every update....
The Map size now exceeds the 8GB on-board Memory size on the NAV4 devices, this is an unfortunate, but real Catch22 situation....
The latest NAV4 Full Europe Map size is now around 9 GB....
    Maybe useful...

Note... If you have multiple Maps Installed on the device... MyDrive Connect only monitors the 'Active Map'....
Using the 'MY CONTENT' menu method to update your device gives you the option to update the individual Maps....

    Method...
    Option (1)
Installing a small Map Zone/Map Cut... Onto the built-in Memory to act as a 'Keeper' Map....
With MyDrive Connect running on your PC and your 8GB NAV4 device showing connected over USB....
(1)... Click on the 'MY CONTENT' Button....

(2)... Scroll down to 'MY MAPS' --> On the 'Europe Map' Click on the 'Downward pointing arrowhead'....
    3fmrv145rkt2.jpg
(3)... A new window opens click on 'Get the same Map with less 3D Buildings'....
    9tv2fnoq90xd.jpg
Note (1)... The Europe Map with less 3D Buildings still too big to install....
Note (2)... On the NAV4 GO 5100/6100 devices issued with 'World Maps'...
You could install one of the 'Small Maps' to the on-board Memory to act as a 'Keeper'
This will keep the device running and allow you to install the Larger Maps to the Memory Card....
Note (3)... MyDrive Connect offers a list of smaller Maps/Map Cuts... (I selected the smallest Map that included the UK&ROI Map)....
Tomtom have released the Europe map in different Map Cuts (Map zones)... Will any of these new Maps suit your travel requirements ???
See VikramK's Post for the new smaller Europe Map Cuts... https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/comment/1660206/#Comment_1660206
If you wish to just stick with using the internal memory Instead of using a Micro USB Card simply install one of the Map Cuts....

    Method Continued....
(4).... Select and click on the require Map Cut....
    vv7i8poz317l.jpg
(5)... A new window opens... Click on 'Continue'....
(6)... A new window opens... Click on 'Install'....
(7)... Follow the on-screen instructions and install the 'Europe- South Western Zone' Map....
    The Map Installed 'OK'...
Now there is a Map installed... The 8GB NAV4 device will offer the Tomtom Formatting Menu for the Memory Card....
Install and Format the Memory Card --> If required install the Full Europe Map....

    Option... (2)
If you own more than one Tomtom device, if it's a previous NAV3 device....
Or one of the later Wi-Fi Connected devices... If the device has a Micro SDHC Card slot....
You could use this second device as a host to Format the Memory Card to the Tomtom propriety Map format....
Install the Formatted Memory Card into your other device --> Then If required Install the Full Europe Map onto the Memory Card....
Note... Maps cannot be transferred between devices using this method the Maps are locked to the individual devices by their unique Serial number....
Note... The latest Tomtom GO Discover or GO Expert etc... do not have a SDHC Memory slot....

Also, useful to get past the 'No Maps Available' error that also stops access to the Memory Card Map Formatting Menu....

    Stay Safe... ATB YFM
