TomTom GO 520 wifi problem

I am troubleshooting a TomTom Go 520 wifi which had a failure on update and was removed from the users account. So now MyDrive Connect cannot reboot the device nor find it so that I could add it to any account to reboot it. Is there a way to add this device by using the serial?

    in Menu > Settings > system > select > Reset device then try to connect it to the account again.

    Problem is that with the update failure, the device wont start to the navigation screen.

    Press the on/off button until you hear the sound of the tamtam and the device restarts.

    It still doesnt go to the navigation screen. This is why I cannot connect it to the app where I could do the recovery reset by pressing power for 20s and the 3x while connecting to the app. So first I need a way to link the device to my account without using the device but the serial #.

    Welcome to the site...
    Do you have a Micro SDHC memory card installed on the device ???
    If 'Yes' Remove the Memory Card...
    Charge the device for at least 3 hours... (Preferably using something like a Smartphone or a Mains powered USB charger + Using the Tomtom USB lead)
    OR have the device plugged into a power supply (As above) while the device is restarting....
    Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.

    Battery is full (I can see this on the text window that comes when I keep power button pressed for 20s), no SD and it always starts to the screen with monitor, then red X and then TomTom screen with red triangle and !.

    It looks like Recovery Mode has Automatically Started on your device....
    MyDrive Connect >> MUST << be running on your PC, and be capable of displaying as >> CONNECTED << on MyDrive Connect...
    The device >> MUST << be connected to your PC using the supplied USB Cable with MyDrive Connect running in the background for the Recovery process to complete....

    If Recovery mode has Auto Started, it will bypass the Text screen and the 3 presses of the power button... And will already be at a stage of Recovery somewhere between the 'Spinning-disk' image shown in bullet point (5) and the bullet point (7) image showing the recovery progress count up to 100%

    Once Recovery Mode is initiated, and if a connection to MyDrive Connect has NOT established... Recovery Mode will continue to attempt to connect to MDC until the Server eventually times-out....
    Any attempts at a Restart of the device... Recovery Mode will continue to attempt to connect to MDC until the Server eventually times-out
