TomTom GO 40 - No maps on device nor on MyDrive Connect

Good afternoon. Just bought a second hand TomTom GO 40. The seller said that it had no maps installed, but that shouldn't be a problem, because it's supposed to have lifetime Europe maps.
When I got home, I connected it to MyDrive Connect and it shows no maps to install. There are also no updates (I know it doesn't have the latest software version, so there should be a software update.
How can I fix this? Thank you in advance.
