    Hi wabbak,

    Welcome to the Community!

I would advise you to make a factory reset on your watch and try again to update the courses. See the public FAQ here to do so: Resetting your watch

If you have a Golfer1, it is likely because it is end of life. Please see the announcement below that came out last year:

TomTom will no longer support the first generation of Golfer watches (serial numbers that start with HB) as of 01/07/2021.

In 2017 TomTom announced that both the development of new hardware for and the sales of sports watches would cease. We have continued to support our sports devices with software updates and fixes since then, but it has become clear that the first-generation golf watch TomTom Golfer GPS Watch does not have the resources to function to our latest standards.

You may be able to continue using your watch for now, but going forward you might experience issues since TomTom will no longer be supporting the watch with technical fixes. These include not being able to add courses to your watch, and getting incorrect course data when recording or syncing your latest rounds.

It’s still possible to access any saved data that has been synced to your TomTom Sports account. To download your saved history of played rounds from your TomTom Sports account, click this link: https://mysports.tomtom.com/app/settings/account-manage/data-protection/
The files are compressed zip archives containing JSON_2-files, which can be used on other platforms or apps that support this format.
