Hi, has anyone used a standard USB extension cable with a “Go” unit as I want to hide the power cable as the original power cable is not long enough? Thank you

    Hi

You can use a longer cable, you must check that the mini plug of the cable is compatible with the GPS plug.

    Hi there @Numb_Nuts1 -

The original TomTom power cable for my GO unit (which is positioned to the left of my rear view mirror), has been routed behind the passenger sun visor and then fed behind the roof lining and down the front left windscreen pillar to the power supply with the addition of a 1.5 metre USB extension. If you use the original TomTom cigarette usb charger, there shouldn’t be a problem. I have done this for a number of years now using different TomTom models.

I've found some USB cables are not compatible, either physically because the connector is a bit short or electrically because the cable doesn't indicate it supports high power. That said, most are fine. Just check it first.
