I don't think TomTom have any intention of changing the awful display. I suspect they are trying to force us to subscribe to TomTom Go which has the excellent, clear display that we want.

Maybe, I'm ready to use Go but it's not fully usable with Android auto!

When I saw the recent improvement in road name display I decided to unsubscribe from the beta program and gave a bad review in the play store. What surprised me was that TomTom International BV wrote to me that these changes were at the request of users ....

They really don't understand what kind of display we mean! About such as on the website play.google.pl (i.e. Thai like TomTom Go)

@jjanusz I've just updated to version 8.493 and I have horizontal street labels. Excellent!

@Eric_1950 Compare current street labels with the old one:
What we have now is not a progress, it's a mess.

Yes. Your video shows Amigo as it was in April 2022. I agree the street labels then were far better than the ones we have now, and so was the colour scheme of the roads. The app was superb then, but I don't think Tomtom will go back to that.
At least what we have now is better than the names written in flat text along the roads at ridiculous angles.
