My Go 6200 reports the tutor stations late, is it possible to anticipate the warning?

Hi @Pico13
Welcome to the community!
How late is the alert exactly?
Ideally, the distance at which an alert is shown depends on the current speed of the vehicle. When this distance is reached, the route bar will zoom in and will display a maximum of 500m.
Thanks,

Thank you for your kind response.
With all other types of speed cams, the warning is given correctly about 500m in advance of the position of the station. With the workstations of the safety tutor system, on the other hand, the warning arrives when the workstation has already been exceeded by about 30m0 -
Apparently the Safety Tutor system is an average speed camera system. These work by calculating your average speed between two cameras a significant distance apart. Since you need to keep within the speed limit (as averaged) over the total distance it is not necessary to receive advance notice of the camera merely that you are within the averaging zone.
Here in the UK there is an erroneous belief that average refers to the mean value of the speed when passing each camera. However this is not the case but the time taken (using ANPR for vehicle identification) to travel between the two cameras is used, together with the known distance apart, to calculate the average speed between the two points.6 -
Yes, the safety tutor is a system capable of measuring the average speed, but many of its stations are also equipped for the detection of the instantaneous speed, and it is for this reason that it is important to receive the warning in advance.0

So it seems to be no resolution to the Go 6200 problem. My old ONE XL also had the same problem, but in that case it was possible to anticipate the warning by increasing the distance it was given. Nobody knows how to do with the GO?0

Hi
@Pico13
For general improvement using the Tomtom Speed Cam Database over the default settings
Use a Computer voice...
Also....
From the main screen... Tap (.... Menu) -> Setting -> Sounds & Warnings...
Set... 'Warning Type' to... Read Allowed... (Important... Needs a Computer Voice set in the Voices menu)
Speed Cameras & Hazards... Set to ON
The next 10 Setting ALL set to Always
The next 4 Settings ALL set to ON
The device will now say....
'Fixed Camera'
'Mobile Hot Spot'
'Average Speed Camera'
'Red light Camera'
Spoken Traffic delays
Speed Cams
If you keep a check on the Traffic-bar... The device gives you a visual Warning of the next Fixed or Mobile Speed Camera many miles before you reach the camera
Even more info if in the 'Setting menus' you setup a Wide Traffic/Route Bar
