Buy/installing new maps in old device

in Devices using TomTom HOME
I connect and login to be told my old XL330 is no longer supported. Does this mean I cannot buy/install a new map even if I accept it will not be possible to get updates etc?

    Correct, you can no longer buy a map or update this device, you can still continue to use GPS.
    a piece of advice make a full backup of the GPS on your computer.
