Well what a load of rubbish this new Go Discover 7" is I have just bought, wish I had saved my money.
No memory slot so tried to uninstall voices I don't need and I have tried everything and cannot do it as it keeps taking me to a page saying "UPDATE DEVICE THE EASY WAY" and cant find a way around it so I'm sending it back and I'm very disappointed that tomtom (who I have used for a long time) sell rubbish like this.

GO Discover has 32 GB of internal memory, so plenty of space to install a map.
To remove unnecessary voices, connect your GO Discover to Mydrive connect.0 -
Willy875,
I have done that 4 times and when I click the remove button at the bottom, or even if I use the uninstall tab it just takes me to another page saying "UPDATE DEVICE THE EASY WAY" and has a black square on it so nothing will work.0 -
Well Willy875, Just did it again as you said "To remove unnecessary voices, connect your GO Discover to Mydrive connect." and all it does is move to another page
then a second page but never removes any voices.
And it is connected via a usb so don't know what is going on.

Hi
The question is why would you want to remove vocals?
your GO has 32 GB of internal memory there is room to install a map.
To add a map from another country, just go to
Main menu > setting > Maps & display > Downloaded maps > in the right corner you will see the option > Add0 -
Im not asking about Maps and it would seem you cant help me so lets leave it.0

Contact customer service, they should know how to remove the vocals.

Hi @djbre58
Generally the Go Discover updates are all done by Wi-Fi, but to remove content such as voices requires interaction on both the computer (Go Discover connected to MyDrive Connect by USB) and the Device which in my opinion is a bit convoluted.
This is the sequence I have successfully followed to remove voices on the Go Discover.
If it does not work for you, I would initially suggest uninstalling / reinstall MyDrive connect before contacting the TomTom Customer Care Team.
On the PC
Connect the Go Discover by USB cable to MyDrive Connect and log in.
Once connected, go to My Device then Select My Content
Hit the Remove Content from your Device Button on the Right hand side of the screen
“It should” pop up a list of Voices that are installed.
Select the Tick boxes for the voices you do not require.
Scroll to the Bottom and hit the button Delete selected items.
You should get the “Update the Easy way” screen……..
Select “Got it”
Now go back to the Go Discover:
Select Main Menu > Settings > Updates & New Items
You should see a spinning circle then “Your device has been updated”
Hopefully that will work for you.
(If you require to reinstall Voices go back to MyDrive Connect and Content then in the middle of the screen you should see the option to Add voices then generally follow the above sequence) .

Hi
@djbre58
Removing Voices from a GO Discover GO Expert etc... etc....
Updating a Tomtom Wi-Fi device over USB... The (Wi-Fi) device requires the use of the (Wi-Fi) Device Onboard Menus....
I've discovered a different way of updating the Wi-Fi devices.....
Using the MyDrive Connect Menu structure... Instead of the onboard (Wi-Fi) Menu Structure....
It works a treat, it's just like updating the previous NAV4 devices....
But much faster as the (Wi-Fi) Devices update over USB on the fly i.e... No Download/Upload/Install....
___________________________
Method....
Make sure MyDrive connect is running on your PC Taskbar
Connect your GO Discover GO Expert etc... to a USB port on your PC
___________________________
On the Wi-Fi device....
Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Setting....
Make sure the 'Updates & New items' Menu is displayed on the screen....
But >> DO NOT << open the 'Updates & New items' Menu
Using MyDrive Connect....
With the latest MyDrive connect installed....
Use MyDrive Connect the way you would 'Remove Content' on a NAV4 device...
Method....
Click On the 'My Content' button....
Click on the Green 'Remove' Button...
Note... When you hover the Mouse Pointer over the 'Remove' button it expands to a green 'Remove Content From Device' button....
A new window opens titled... 'FREE UP SPACE ON YOUR DEVICE'
Select the Voice/s you wish to remove....
When you have made your update selection/s... Click on the 'Delete Selected' button....
My Drive Connect will display the "UPDATE DEVICE THE EASY WAY" Splash screen....
Now... Go back to the Wi-Fi device....
Next... Tap on the 'Updates & New items' Menu
The Wi-Fi device will Start Updating and displaying the Spinning Disc....
Then the download Percentage Countdown....
When the device has finished updating....
On the PC... To return to the MyDrive Connect Menus....
Click on the >> 'I Got it' << button of the "UPDATE DEVICE THE EASY WAY" Splash screen...
I think the Update is Set up and Initiated in MyDrive Connect....
Then Confirmed and Activated by simply... Opening the 'Updates & New items' Menu....
It just works....

Hi
@djbre58
I can't see it will make a difference but it appears you haven't removed the temporary screen protector ???
The screen protector on the device, as supplied, is disposable, its used to protect the screen during Manufacture & Transit....

Well spotted, I was keeping it there as not sure if I'm keeping the device as I'm very disappointed with it I must say, I have a Go 6000 "which sometimes takes me the wrong way" so I'll not be without one.
