My Tom Tom Go Classic does not turn on

I just bought a Tom Tom Go Classic. Initially, I turned it on, charged the battery, and set it up via wifi. Everything was going great until it turned off and there is no way to turn it on. The screen is black and a battery charge image appears which instantly disappears. I've had the battery charging for hours and it still won't turn on.

    Charge your device for 2 hours with an AC charger.

    Press the on/off button until you hear the sound of the tamtam and the device restarts.

    If the problem persists, contact Customer Service for warranty assistance.
