Hi, I bought a used rider 550 from a friend.
Can I register the device with my account and consequently update the maps, or do I have to do it with his account because he registered the product?
Your friend must delete his GPS on his account then create a new Tomtom account for you
the maps are linked to the GPS not to the account.
Go to System in Settings and select Reset Device. The unit will then delete all the current information on it and you can then set the unit up as if you had bought it new and input your account detail etc. This Reset does not affect the Operating System or the Maps on the device and so they will as they are at the moment.
