tomtom XXL Classic map update

I tried to update my tomtom XXL Classic uk and roi maps and when it had finished my maps had dissapeared, ive since learned these maps are no longer available to download, cananyone help?

    A map has been reactivated for your TomTom XXL. Check for downloads in TomTom HOME.

    Hi Vikram,

    thank you for reactivating the map for me, i think the software files may be corrupt on my device as its just hanging on the tomtom logo now, is there anyway i can replace the
    operating system software with a working version?
