Installation Problem

I have a (Renault) Carminat TomTom Live. In the past I have updated this appliance through TomTom Home and the update map. This morning I did the same. The paying (Euro 69), downloading and installing went well (green). Then I tried the SD-card in the Carminat and all I got was the Welcome Screen of TomTom and Renault and after that an hourglass. So now I want to know what went wrong. And if it isn't possible to solve this problem. Worst case scenario : How good are my changes to restore to the old situation? I would like to use the appliance, even without the updates. Just lost the money.
I have been waiting for 4 hours in the chatbox (number one in the row) for a possible solution. So now I try to get an answer through this Forum. Thanks for Your advice in advance.

If this problem is caused due to missing files after the recent update, a clean reinstallation of software and maps should help.
