No voice

My Go comfort seems to work on the road but there is no voice. yes, the volume is up. Yes the mute button is not activated. I chose Samatha (USA) voice but hear nothing. In my search to find a solution I was instructed to install Tom Tom Home on my laptop. I did this and the opening page reads that my device is not connected? Please help. Thank you

    If when you Tap Menu button and the Sound bar appears has the Speaker icon at the left end of the volume strip got a line through it. If it has Tap it to restore the sound. Also the Voice/directions icon on the Righthand end of the volume bar must not have a line through it

    The software you need for you unit is the My Drive Connect software . You could open that software and see if the problem voice is listed. If so delete the voice form the unit and reload via the software.

    I'm really frustrated with Tom Tom. No support at all. Phone line is always "busy". Chat button doesn't work. There's nothing on the unit that would lead to the default voice not working. My unit reads that it is up to date. When connected to My Drive Connect it tells me to update my device for $70 ish more money? The unit seems to work fine on the road with the exception of no voice instructions. I'm thinking I may have purchased the wrong company's GPS. I see where I can buy a voice. If the default voice isn't working and I have no company support it leads me to not wanting to spend another dime with Tom Tom. The voice not working should be a very simple solution. I have spent hours searching for that answer. I had a Magellan that was easy to use and you could actually speak with someone to walk you thru any issues. I do not see anywhere on My Drive Connect where I can download a voice file.

    Do you have voices installed on your GPS?
    Normally you should have voices to download?
