Connection problem?

My 6" TomTom GO, connected to the cylindrical car power socket, has been fine, but all of a sudden has started going blank and having to be resuscitated by pressing the power button. In one case, it refused to be resuscitated, and I kept getting the start-up page with the white line, which, once it was complete, would start all over again. Thankfully, I was close to where I wanted to go, so I could navigate myself there, but if I'd been somewhere strange, I'd have been in a real pickle. It seems to be behaving itself again, but my trust in it has gone. How long before the next problem? Connection problem or device problem? Advice welcome!

    If your GPS connected to the car charger turns off, your cable may be faulty, try another cable.
