Voice control not working on GO 520

After I say Hello Tom Tom it goes to voice control screen, never talks to me and microphone shows as busy. If I tap microphone icon it shows that I can talk, so I give it a command like show destinations but the microphone show busy again until I tap it. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting I need to change? I am using Samantha which shows as computer voice.
