Tomtom blue and me locked in the previous owner account

I bought a second hand car with a Blue&Me TomTom 2 Live navigation set. I installed MyDrive, made an account en tried to add the TT to my account. The reaction on MyDrive: Something went wrongYour system (the TT) can't be added to yor account right now. Try again later.
That later part didn't work, never.
Any ideas? Any suggestions?

Have you tried to factory reset the device.
try creating a new tomtom account with a new email address.1

After a factory reset and trying to connect for some time finely get it sorted. Thank you willy875 for your help. Thanks0
