Perhaps I should have added more detail. I have downloaded TomTom HOME on my Mac and the relevant applications are on the sd card. However, upon re-inserting it into my car, it says no maps available.

If you have already made updates with Tomtom Home
Tomtom Home had to make a backup.

I reviewed your TomTom account and I see you already have an active subscription for map update service (Europe).
Are there no maps offered when you check for updates?

Not that I can see. To be honest, I've spent so much time and tried so many ways to get it working, I can't remember what I've done and what I haven't done. I found the website really difficult to navigate. I have purchased a map but I have no idea if this is even suitable for the SD card I have or if I've wasted £50. It's also not clear from the order what form this map takes; I've received an invoice and payment has been taken but now what? Is it a download? Then I ended up on a scam website where I nearly lost £150 - a website which looks very convincingly like a Tomtom and from reading the forum on scams, I don't think I'm the only one.

Sorry to rant, but I've almost lost the will to live!

Sorry to hear that you landed on a fake TomTom website.

I don't see any issues why the map should not be offered for download. I would recommend that you do a clean reinstallation of TomTom HOME, see steps here- https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013901760

I've completed all the steps but when I load TomTom Home, it's saying no device, although the SD card is in the laptop. The only thing that I can think is that the SD card does not belong to the car.

I also don't understand what you say about me having an active subscription, as when I check it says I have no active subscriptions. Tomtom also tells me that there are no available updates for my device.

Thank you for your help, but I think I'm going to give up now.

Is this SD card the original card delivered with the car or is it an SD card bought on the web?
