Again having to revert to another app due to failure of TomTom Go

Not used the TomTom Go app for a while and after updating and ensuring got the latest maps, went for a drive out yesterday. The app was using the Android Auto interface on my car and had nothing but problems with it.

Why is this app so bugged and useless - had set a destination and set display to 3D, the app was producing inappropriate routes which I ignored and continued on the main roads. After a while it stopped showing the route and providing instructions, then started switching to 2D mode, so couldn't really follow it, then it was zooming out to show a picture of the world (see attached image).

In the end had to switch to your free version of AmiGo to continue directions and notifications, which worked as intended.

So why is your free version of the app working better than the paid version?
