It supposedly has lifetime map update but the maps won't update, it's for New Zealand. Please help?

You may have a problem with your cable tried with another cable.

have done no difference. used lap top with no change also. charges up fine on lap top and pc.

A 4-wire cable 2 to charge the GPS 2 for data transfer.
