Why am I being charged for speed camera updates when I have lifetime updates?

I have a TomTom GO 5000. This has lifetime speed camera and map updates. I have however been charged the last 4 months for "Speed Camera Updates - Monthly Subscription". I've had this sat nav for years and have never had any issues with regards to paying for updates

    Go 5000 never had the radars for life what has changed

    The functionality of TomTom models has changed, speed camera services are linked to a subscription. When a speed camera subscription expires, the TomTom device stops issuing alerts.
