Faulty USB cable on brand new Sat Nav

I bought a "TomTom GO Classic" direct from TomTom which arrived yesterday. The USB cable supplied appears to be faulty as when I try to use it the Sat Nav does not charge. I have an older Start 25 Sat Nav and when I try the cable from that one my new Sat Nav does charge. However although it charges with this older cable I cannot get my Sat Nav to connect to my PC using it.
Is there a way I can request a replacement USB cable? I have had a look on the web site but its not obvious how to do that. As its brand new I am assuming the cable will have a warranty.
