Although all of My Places show up on my drive, they don't all show up on my Tomtom Expert. I do have a lot of poi"s which I need. I also am only using the UK map on my device so there is plenty room. Can anyone tell me why they don't show up on the device? Strangely though if I search for them the show on the map.

The majority of my destinations are within an hour or so drive and keeping lots of favourites could obliterate the map screen with Blue stars and was one reason for my cull of some of my Favourites.

Any location I have not visited in over a year is deleted from the device and a note placed in a Word or Excel Document with the lat / long, description and Mapcode so that I can easily cut and paste the latter and send the destination to the device using MyDrive.

It would be helpful if TomTom would allow us to transfer POI’s to the Go Expert / Go Discover etc. ;)

TomTom states in MyDrive that syncing of POI’s is not supported by the following products: Go Discover and Go Navigation App and I assume the Go Expert being of the same family of devices is also affected.

I wish TomTom would provide us with a POI facility on their newer NDS mapping range of devices.

I have recently culled a lot of Favourites etc. and I currently only have 112 in the TomTom account that I link to the Go Expert, but all are being displayed when I search through My Places on the device.

I assume you have as they say turned it off / on again as that often will cure small wrinkles?

I wonder if you have significantly more Favourites and have hit some theoretical limit (TomTom have never stated to my knowledge what the device limit is for Favourites / My Places) on what can be displayed on the screen of the device?

@Lost_Soul. Thx for getting back to me. There must be a limit although on my go pro 6250 there seemed to be no limit. I suppose at least they are still there and not dropped of the map. I do have a lot of faves that a need to keep ad we go go back to these places sometimes a year apart.

@Lost_Soul. Yes they sure do obliterate the map when zoomed out. Would b nice if TomTom overplayed the route when there are a lot of Poi"s but that is just me wanting my cake and eat it. Let's just get the important changes done first.

    Hi
    @Teecee259
If I have a problem with a .Ov2 POI file i.e... Some of the POI locations are not available or displayed on the device....
    Try....
(1)... Run the .Ov2 file though on-line PoiEditor
    Here... http://www.poieditor.com/
(2)... Now save the file the file back to the desktop...
The PoiEditor site appears to correct the file header and other faults in the file....
(3)... Reinstall the .Ov2 file (Using the MyDrive Web Route planner/Tomtom cloud account....
(4)... All of the POI locations are now displayed on correctly on my Tomtom devices....
Note... The GO Discover & GO Expert devices do not allow the installation of .Ov2 POI files

    Stay Safe... ATB YFM

I also have a few “nice to have feature” requests, but you are right TomTom should concentrate on getting the important features fixed first. ;)

I still have a very basic navigation problem that has been outstanding for over 5 1/2 years. Obviously therein lies the problem TomTom, obviously does not consider it important…………. And they will not tell us what is important or what progress is being made as they consider that proprietary knowledge to their business.

I have made so many requests to the Customer Care Team and typically get frustrated with their responses which eventually follow a similar pattern as below:

“I have now discussed this issue with our 2nd line technical team and we do have same issue reported by some other customers as well. Based on this we have created a ticket to be investigated on this and forwarded it to the developers.

Our developers are actively looking into this issue impacting some owners of some TomTom devices. I regret that at this time they have not determined the underlying cause and cannot therefore give me any reference point on when they will have the issue fixed.

We continue to investigate the issue and look forward to pushing an update via MyDrive / Updates and New Items on device to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”

I was pleased to note that TomTom will "resolve this issue as soon as possible" However the term “As soon as possible” doesn’t convey any sort of time frame.

But the wording and the preceding paragraph seemed familiar.............

Checking back, I found I have received similar generic updates from TomTom on other queries, including one that is still unresolved from 5 1/2 years ago............. So will I have to wait another 5+ years...................... to get a working device?????

Although TomTom’s business model allows them to develop a “specialised product” to be sold for a higher price………… B) , the limited numbers of both Truck and Camper devices compared to Cars means that if a fault in the mapping or otherwise occurs with a Truck/Camper device, the numbers of affected drivers will be that much smaller and “easier to ignore”…………. :s

YamFazMan. I concur wholeheartedly with what u r saying and therein lies the problem. I've see so many errors but I know it is a pointless task reporting them. Why should I waste my precious time writing to them to correct an error, and let's remember I was doing it for myself and the benefit of the other users, when I know it will not be corrected by the time a year or two is up. That said with this new mapping system I've noticed changes I've suggested corrected already so I may have to reassess my stance on that.
