Why cannot update my TomTom device

I have purchased a TomTom update to my car device but uable to download it. The update program has been running and running for hours, no result. I would like to have my money back and buy a new device, with better luck.
What should I do?

    Same problem here. The tomtom start device has worked and been updated but now it will not connect.

    OK, my problem is that I have purchased the map update for Europe 69€ but I am unable to download it.
