Carminet not being recognised

hi
I have updated the maps on my Carminet (Renault Scenic 2016 model). followed all the instructions closely and on reinserting back into the car get message the tomtom can't run that map
any ideas to help?

Welcome to the community! Could you try removing and installing the map using TomTom HOME?

When I reconnected the memory card to TomTom Home again it said there was nothing to update

Have you removed the map on the memory card when you connect it. The replacement map may appear then.

You must remove the map on the SD card is also on the computer.0 -
on TomTomHOME it says the map needs to be activated - I don't have any code/
there is nothing emailed to me when I purchased a new map from TomTom0 -
Normally there is no need for a code to activate a map, you have to download it to the SD then insert the SD into the Carminat
it must be selected if several maps are installed on the SD.0 -

This morning I have purchased a new map from the tomtom site
I have followed the guidance from Hazel at Tomtom to remove the map from the device and the new map will appear
Now I have no map on my device nor my laptop
It was previously definitely saying it couldn’t use the map until it was activated
Now I have no map and and am £35 poorer
