Home won't recognize Rider on Mac M1 computer

I've had a Rider (4GD00) for ages, always used it with my previous Intel Mac and Home, always worked well.

Recently upgraded the Mac to a M1 Mac Mini, running MacOS 12.1. I removed the previous version of Home, and installed the current version for M1 Mac. I connect the Rider, it asks to connect to the computer, and mounts on the Mac as a device. Home launches, and says "No device found". I'm a bit baffled as to what to do next, as everything seems to be working properly: Rider sees computer, computer sees Rider, Rider drive is mounted on the computer.

Question: Are you using a USB-C type adapter?

No, I'm plugging directly into the USB A connector on the Mac.

I just tried moving the TomTom directories in ~/Library/Application Support, which recreated the TomTomUpgrade directory, but did not help to find the device.
