I have just fitted a 32 GB SD card to my Go 600. The card formatted with no problems but, for some reason, I cannot download anything to my sat-nav. I just get the message "Waiting for your device". Also My Drive Connect which previously showed my device as a GO 600 now shows it as a GO 6000. The interface with My drive Connect seems to have changed with half the information in UK English - correct - but adverts in Dutch. Has anyone got any ideas?

Correction and update to original post;- I have just fitted a 32 GB SD card to my Go 6000 as the internal memory was full and the SD card fitted was too small for the download I wanted. (There was confusion over the model number) The new card formatted with no problems it shows up in My Drive Connect and also on the device itself. I cannot, however, download anything into my sat-nav. I just either get the message "Waiting for your device" or it just sits there. I uninstalled My Drive Connect and did a fresh install. I tried to download another map. The download seemed to progress normally but, once again, the map did not install.

The interface with My drive Connect still seems to have changed with half the information in UK English - correct - but adverts in Dutch.

Has anyone got any ideas? I can only think of doing a factory reset.

If after a while nothing happens, disconnect the GPS and reconnect it.

Can you try on another computer.

Hi, Willy. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting. I have tried (twice) resetting the device. Two re-installs of My Drive Connect. Unfortunately I cannot try on another computer but everything was fine until I installed the new memory card. The card is shown in the device and is also shown up correctly - as empty - in My Drive Connect. My other TomTom sat-nav has no problems on this computer.

    Hi
If you remove the new 32gb sd and insert the old sd, what happens?

I have just put the old SD back in and it shows it as virtually full. Looking at
"My Content" it lists out the contents of both internal memory and SDcard.

I tried another, new, 32 GB Micro SD and get the same results as with the
other (new) one. Kingston have confirmed that the two 32 GB SD cards they
supplied are correct for my GO 6000. This would seem to be correct as both
My Drive Connect and my GO 6000 see and report the new card - I seem to
be able to download the new map but not install it.

Try to format the 32GB SD with the computer, then insert the SD into the GPS again to reformat it.

Will try later - SWMBO has diverted me to other activities.

I deleted one of the big files from the old card and
have freed up a lot of space so all is not lost.

I will come back later when I have tried the computer
re-format. I shall do a full format, not a quick one.

Thanks for your help so far.

Hi, Willy. Re-format of the 32 GB SD card started off with the message
"There is a problem with this disk". Suggested "Scan disk" ( I opted
to format anyway) and it, apparently, went without a hitch, a full
FAT32 format. I shall try it in the sat-nav tomorrow.

    Watch this space.

    Hi again, Willy.

Formatted the new card on my computer as you
suggested. Fitted it into the GO 6000. Card was
recognised and I was asked to select usage as
    'Routes' or 'Maps'. Chose 'Maps'.

My GO 6000 then re-formatted the card - again.
Went into 'Content' selected a new map & install.
A few minutes later the download failed with the
    message 'Session Expired'.

Tried again, download seemed to be OK. Screen on
computer showed the green link to the device and the
message 'Updating device' Oh no it wasn't!

I then, stupidly, broke my own rule and changed two
things at the same time. a). I left the sat-nav displaying
the 'Your device is connected to your computer. Manage
your content with My Drive Connect.' screen. b). In the
Windows Defender Firewall I changed the permission for
TomTom from 'Private' to both 'Private' and Public'.

I then selected a new map, and clicked on 'Install'. The
download completed successfully to 100%. The grey
line on the computer screen (Link from the computer to
device) changed to green. The advisory message 'Updating
device' appeared and the device screen changed to updating
mode and a successful download was completed onto the
    new 32 GB SD card.

Sorry for the long winded post but maybe the info might
    help someone else.

Thanks for your help. Willy. I think my problem is now
    resolved.

    Ken.

    Hi

    @ttrider2

    I don't know if it's checked.
in the > settings of Mydrive connect > download checked so that the map is downloaded first on the computer.

    Hi, Willy.

Download updates on my computer is 'Checked'.
