Recently purchased a tomtom go basic...

So, i recently purchased a tomtom go basic and its supposed to have lifetime trafffic. I had to use it today to do a 300 mile drive and apparently the traffic has expired with no apparent way of re-enabling it. i'm not happy to be honest is there a way of doing this somwhere?. Ive tried logging out and in, connected it to my pc, reset it to factory and nothing is working. overall a very frustrating experience.
