Why does TomTom Go Navigation insist on apparently driving in the country side

When I leave home it follows the lane/road where I live but at some point it shows I am driving across fields in parallel with the road. It also miscalculates the time of arrival.

    Welcome to the Community! I may have misunderstood this but this might be related to your 'Routing' settings in the App. Maybe enable the 'Avoid unpaved roads' option under settings and see if this improves the situation.
    It also miscalculates the time of arrival.
    Does this happen all the time or with some particular destinations only? e.g. 100 meters from the destination, ETA still shows as 5min to go
