How to Contact Tomtom to change registration of device.

I recently purchased a rider 550 second hand via marketplace. This is my first Tomtom so I was unaware that the device is registered with the owner. I now know this and have tried contacting the previous owner so as we can change the registered owner to my account. Unfortunately he is proving to be unobtainable through the contact channels I have. I understand Tomtom can diativate his registration and add mine. I am struggling to find a one to one contact route with Tomtom to perform this. So firstly how do I contact Tomtom and also if I do a full reset will that automatically undo any registration so as I can then register it to my account?

    Hi @Alanr1610
    Could you try a few steps as below to add the device to your account-

    1. Disconnect the device from the computer.
    2. Perform a factory reset- Main menu- Settings- System- Reset
    3. Log-in to MyDrive on the device- Main menu Settings- MyDrive
    4. Now connect the device to the computer and open MyDrive Connect.

    Do you see your RIDER listed under your account?

    Hi Vikram,

    I carried out steps 1 & 2. after reset the screen is now very dark and I cannot make brighter. Tried to log into MyDrive and it says "Oops, We are having trouble accessing TomTom services. Please try again later". I can log into Mydrive on my computer but not the device.

    OK I think I got it sorted.
