Tom Tom Carminat SIM card active for LIVE Services

Hi, new to the site.
Just bought a 2016 Renault Grand Scenic with built in Carminat.
Trying to get live services but will not connect.
I have heard these devices have a SIM card which runs this, do they get disconnected at all.
Wondering how I can get this service up and running again.

    if the former owner has stayed 18 months, the sim card is used and is disconnected
