Slow updating via MY Drive Connect

Have been a TomTom user since the first UK product release and this is first problem I have had with updates. My device is connected to laptop with original USB cable. Selecting either single file for update or multiple files it sits on "Getting Ready" for hours (literally) and seems to do nothing. After 24 hours my updates have made seemingly no progress. Any suggestions on why this is so slow / not happening and how to basically get the updates to complete. There is loads of free space on the memory card.

    Hi @doorman1950

I would try a Factory Reset on the GO510 and see if that sorts it.

Before you do the Reset go to the My Drive Website and log into your account o check that your My Places etc are saved there and so will sync back onto the unit after the Reset.

    Tap Menu
    Tap Settings
    Tap System
    Tap Reset Device

tried a factory reset but still "getting ready" is showing after about 30 minutes.

could nabu please provide some extra guidance on clearing cache please?

    Thanks

I think this might have sorted the problem, cleared the cache plus some old log files then did a reboot of the laptop. It is still taking a long time but update seems to be progressing - now 23% complete after around 40 minutes. Thanks to all for your help with this.
