XXL requesting activation code

in Devices using TomTom HOME
tried to update needed room backed up, removed unwanted items, rebooted no maps found! copied from back up tp Tom Tom typed in activation code but not accepted. Please help as it makes getting round so easy wish I left it with the older maps at least it was working!

    I found a mini map of Europe, downloaded it and put it on an SD card, but the Tom TOM device does not recognize it as a map.

    transfer your sd otherwise you can no longer use it
