AmiGO freezes on android auto while navigating

Just subscribed to tomtom (android auto) for a month but when I try to navigate to a destination the screen zooms in to the directions but after about 30 secs zooms back to the map and stops the navigation.
Tried on the android auto from Play Store and also with the latest version. manually installed.
Phone is Samsung Note 9
Car is 2021 Honda Jazz
any help appreciated
