On my OLD tom tom, I could look up a list of POI's in alphabetical order and click on the ones i wanted to install, for example, I could look for Tesco Petrol stations , click on it and it would install the POI for Tesco petrol stations, but I cannot see how to do this on my new Go Premium. Do you have any advice on how to do this please ????? Plus i used to be able to install POI's from Pocket World GPS , but again, i dont know if i can still do this or how to do it. Any help much appreciated. Cheers Jimmy

In the maps are many pois. You can serch if you enter some words like Dentist, Hotel......
If you have own pois in ov2 format you can add them via the MyDrive Webside https://mydrive.tomtom.com

Hi again.
No Problem.
Install the programm MyDrive Connect. You can download it from here: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/mydrive-connect/
Then log in with your account and connect your device.
When it is connected klick and scroll down from step 1 to 3
If you circle with the mouse over the square with the camera icon the small dropdown arrow appears
After click on the little arrow (step3) you can see the installed speedcams on your device
If the speedcams not installed klick on "Install" (step4)
Then this screen apperas:
Now tap on the Display of your device Menu/Settings/Updates and new elements. A circle begins to spin and the Spedcam is insatlling on your device.
using this method you can also remove voices you don't need or disable other cameras
Or click Uninstall/Install when you want to reinstall the Speedcams all.
Ps: if you open the Pictures with rightclick then they are bigger0

Probably have to use the single file database you won't have enough generic Tomtom Icons for the 20 30 40 50 60 70 and Red Light Cameras etc... multi file database

The latests NAV4 or NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices.... Installing 3rd party POI Categories... You use the MyDrive Web Route planner
Here... https://mydrive.tomtom.com
See Tomtom Video... How to import POIs, GPX files and Favourites in MyDrive
Displaying Personal POIs on the Driving View/Map
Be aware... You can't install the POI associated .BMP files
You can only use the 5 Tomtom supplied generic Icons....
But you can use one icon for more than one POI category i.e... place all your fuel categories under one Icon, then if you tap on a nearby 'say' Fuel Icon a Quick menu opens --> Tap the 3Dot Icon for more options & more Information
Setup... After installing your Personal or 3rd party POIs.... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Settings --> Appearance --> Show POI lists on the Map
It says a restart is required, but I've never found it to be necessary
After choosing the Generic Icon… Tap the coloured (^) Icon screen top right... Pinch zoom the Map, the Generic POI Icons all appear live and working
Note... The Generic POI Icons disappear when the Map is highly zoomed out (I guess, so you can scroll around a clear Map to find your location)
The Icon reappear as you zoom back in again
Here the Yellow Pentagon Icons --> National Trust
Searching an installed 3rd party POI Category....
The search engine is excellent, you usually only need to type around three characters of the POI name for a hit...
For example... I have loaded the 3rd party POI's for the National Trust... To show the POI's for "National Trust" on the map, work your way down to option (2)
From the main screen
Tap (....)4Dot Icon (Screen Bottom left)
Swipe left or Tap the mid/right edge of the screen to go to and tap the MyPlaces Icon
Scroll down and select the required POI Category, For example "National Trust"
You now have three options
The Main search area turns blue and "National Trust" is offered with a flashing cursor
Continue typing the name of the required "National Trust" site, Type Dud (Or as much of the word that's required for Dudmaston Hall appear at the top of the National trust list)
Tap on the offered Dudmaston Hall and select the Drive Icon
You also have two further options.....
After the initial "National Trust" POI selection
There's a dual Icon (screen bottom right) with Three Lines and Two circles
(1)..... Tap the three Lines Icon (bottom right screen) and a list will appear of the "National Trust" sites in distance order
(2)...... Tap the Two circle Icon for the "National Trust" sites POI's to appear on the screen (Pinch zoom for detail) (Note..... On the Start range, it's easier to tap the plus and minus buttons to zoom the map screen)
as far as I'm aware, it will show the nearest 60ish POI's around your location
There is also a Keyboard Icon (screen bottom right) to return to the search window from the options (1) and (2)
An example of the generic Icons on the search screen, the Icons are dynamic so the closer you zoom more icons appear
You can also search for a Town (Area)...
Edit... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Search... Screen top right...
Tap Whole Map
Select....
Below is a Search around the Town of Ludlow for the Archie's Camping & Caravan POIs... The Icons are dynamic. The closer you zoom, more icons appear

Thank you for a vert detailed reply to my question and i have attempted some of the things you have suggested already and they have worked. I dont know if i need to post another question or if you can help me please......... I just updated my tom tom go premium using wi-fi ( cause i still dont have the knack for updating it using my drive !!!!! It doesnt seem to work using that way !) and went out for a drive, but no speed warnings or red light cameras were showing on my tom tom for the whole length of my journey, which is really strange, as they did work previously the last time i used my tom tom a few months ago. Have you any ideas how to put these warnings back on please. Once again, many thanks. Jimmy0

For the Speedcameras:
Are the settings under Menu/Settings/Sounds and warnings all correct?
- Warning type --> Tones or read aloud
- Speedcams and Dangerzones --> Swich must be "on" (to right side)
- all cameras listed should be set to "always"
If the warnings still did not work, please contact support to have them check the device profile on their servers.

You can also use MyDrive Connect to check whether the cameras are installed on your device.
My Premium only had the cameras from Andrra installed.

Hi LochFrass. Thank you for such a quick reply. Ive just checked all of the settings as you suggested above and evrything is "on". As the Go premium is SO different to my old tom tom, i have tried using My Drive, but dont seem to get much success with it ( as i am probably doing something wrong when trying to update my tom tom using it). You said that i can also use My Drive connect to check whether the cameras are installed on your device. Well as a complete novice at using this system, would you be able to give me a step by step guide on how i can check if the cameras are installed using My drive. Thank you..... very much appreciated. cheers Jimmy0

Using MyDrive Connect....
Updating a Tomtom Wi-Fi device over USB... The (Wi-Fi) device requires the use of the (Wi-Fi) Device Onboard Menus....
I've discovered a different way of updating the Wi-Fi devices.....
Using the MyDrive Connect Menu structure... Instead of the onboard (Wi-Fi) Menu Structure....
It works a treat, it's just like updating the previous NAV4 devices... But much faster as the (Wi-Fi) Devices update over USB on the fly, i.e... No Download/Upload/Install....
See... https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1133834/updating-a-tomtom-wi-fi-device-over-usb-using-the-mydrive-connect-menu-structure
