    I've had no luck contacting tomtom, no email addresses tomrom seem to like it that way

    I've been in touch with TomTom.
    They don't want to know.
    I noticed that their first replies they referred to me by name followed by messages where I am referred as TomTom Customer. This speaks volumes. Generic Response = Generic Brush Off.
    They have offered a repair if I pay for it or 25% off a new unit.
    I do not see why I should have to pay for a repair to a product with a known fault. This should be a recall and I can get a discount of 30% from an official UK outlet, so 25% is an insult.
    I have made a decision to buy a reliable garmin device and never ever buy another tomtom device. Job done.
    So that's that with TomTom - you live and learn.
