Brand new Tomtom rider 500 traffic and speed cameras expired

Hi,

Several weeks ago I purchased a TomTom rider 500 and added it to my account, set up all connectivity of wifi and bluetooth and started riding.
No matter what I tried (which included hard reset and reinstalling mydrive app), the traffic and speed camera services don't work.
The message on the device itself says that the services are expired. and I get the same message when I log in on the TomTom website. It subsequently offers a deal to purchase the services for a monthly fee, despite it being marketed as included with the product.
Can anyone explain how to fix this?

    My team pushed the activations for all the services on your RIDER using the backend system. Please do a soft reset and check again.
