Go 5200; shortest route avoiding the motorway

Yesterday I was near Tübingen and wanted to go to Waldshut. Due to traffic jams and a possible traffic accident, I wanted to avoid the A81. So I changed "Autobahn" in the settings of the GO 5200. However, the GO 5200 chose the A 81 (both with activated and deactivated "Autobahn" function). Which additional settings have to be changed in order to calculate a route without a motorway?     Welcome to the site....
    The Avoid Menus Changed a couple of updates ago....
    I think the idea is, now they have added Tunnels & Country Borders to the list, is to have all the 'Avoids' listed in one Menu....

    To Always 'Avoid' Motorways etc....
    Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Setting --> Route Planning
    Scroll all the way down to sub menu 'Route planning'
    Turn off 'Motorways'

    To Avoid' Motorways etc... On a Route by Route basis....
    Plan & Calculate your Route -->
    Tap 4Dot (....) Menu --> 'Current Route' --> 'Avoid Road Types' --> Select... 'Avoid Motorways'
