How do I sync 2 TomTom watches to each other? Both give different distances for the same route." in All Categories

You can't. The nature of GPS is that each data point collected is only accurate to within 15-30m of your actual location. The watch collects the data points and then tries to figure out a route using them (considering that some points may overlap or duplicate). The website then smooths the data to come up with the most reasonable route taken according to the algorithm it is programmed with. Every watch, even two of the same model, will come up with different distances, as they are collecting different GPS data.

Seems a bit odd, we are getting readings that are around 1/2 a kilometre different on a 10 Kilometre run, both running side by side.

Could be one of the watches is dying but TT were budget watches that were never super accurate anyway and are now obsolete. They also do not do vertical distance so if you are on a hilly course it will be off. Try taking the two tracks and overlay them (you can find websites that will do it) and see how closely they followed each other. you will likely find some pretty big divergences.
