How to get Windows 10 to recognise my Go Live 1005 ST

I can download updates using My Drive Connect, but cannot make a backup of the device to my Windows 10 PC

    Welcome to the site....
    Your Go Live 1005 ST is a NAV3 device
    On the NAV3 devices you can't access the operating or filing system like on a PC like you can on a NAV2 device....
    Here's a Workaround I use to "Backup" My NAV3 devices....
    A while ago I looked at the Tomtom Transfer Assistant and discovered that the Transfer Assistant creates hidden a folder called TTDMT.

    If you copy & paste the TTDMT folder contents somewhere convenient, and you have effectively backed up the unit....
    The backup does not include Tomtom Maps or Speed cams it’s only what you can see with Add Community Content....
    You don't need to back up the Maps a Speed Cams they are stored on your account at the Tomtom Cloud server and accessed through MyDrive....

    Hi YamFazMan, I can see what you are getting at. But I cannot find the directory TTDMT that you have mentioned. Why would TomTom NOT give you the option to save out POI's etc ? If you can shed any more light on this I would be grateful.. :)=)

    The TTDMT folder will automatically open on the Desktop.... Displaying the files copied you need to copy from the device....

    Method (1)
    (1)... If you’re running the latest MyDrive Connect… The menu has changed slightly.....
    (2)... With your device turned on and plugged into the PC USB port
    (3)... MyDrive loaded and the MyDrive showing on the PC Taskbar
    (4)... RIGHT-CLICK On the Tomtom Icon on the PC Taskbar
    (5)... Click on the link "Manage Community Content" (See below image)

    Note... If you're using Hidden Icons on your PC's Task Bar
    (1)... Click on the up arrow ^ Icon on the task bar to access the Tomtom Icon
    (2)... RIGHT-CLICK on the Tomtom Icon
    (3)... Click on the link "Manage Community Content"

    After using Method (1) or (2) to access the "Manage Community Content" menu
    Scroll to the top to the top of the list to 'Favorites.Ov2' and select 'Copy to computer'....
    Scroll down the list to copy any other 3rd party POI categories and select 'Copy to computer'....
