TomTom Premium X - Recovery doesn't work

Hi All,

I have a TomTom Premium X that has a black screen with the TomTom pictured on it and a cable to a computer monitor with a red cross. I have connected the TomTom to my laptop directly and started up MyDrive Connect, it went into a recovery mode, but when the device restarted it came back to the same screen.

I looked for answers on the forum and website, I tried to do the reset via holding the power button and getting the kind of BIOS screen, pressing the power button 3 times fast, hook it up to the computer and it went into the same recovery mode as before.

Tried the above about 4 times now, Is there anyway to hard reset the device, obviously without the entering the menu's cause I'm not able to do so. Like those little reset buttons that are on similar devices, I couldn't find that one on this device.

    Hi
    @Maaaath
    Welcome to the site.....
    It sounds like Recovery Mode has Automatically Started on your device
    MyDrive Connect >> MUST << be running on your PC, and be capable of displaying as >> CONNECTED << on MyDrive Connect...
    The device MUST be connected to your PC using the supplied USB Cable with MyDrive Connect running in the background for the Recovery process to complete....

    Installing MyDrive Connect....

    If Recovery mode has Auto Started it will bypass the Text screen and the 3 presses of the power button... And will already be at a stage of Recovery somewhere between the 'Spinning-disk' image shown in bullet point (5) and the bullet point (7) image showing the recovery progress count up to 100%

    Once Recovery Mode is initiated, and if a connection to MyDrive Connect has NOT established... Recovery Mode will continue to attempt to connect to MDC until the Server eventually times-out....
    Any attempts at a Restart the device... Recovery Mode will continue to attempt to connect to MDC until the Server eventually times-out

    Hi @YamFazMan

    Thank you for your quick reply, but this is exactly what I already stated. It goes into the recovery, goes to the full 100%, restarts the TomTom and then just restarts on the same screen, ending me in a loop where I can't use my device, only do the recovery again and again.
