TomTom Rider 500 - No Cameras

Naranja666Naranja666 Posts: 6 [Novice Seeker]
Following a recent device update, I now have no cameras on the device. They will appear if connected to WiFi only, it didn't used to be like this before.... wish I hadn't done the update now. Can't speak to TomTom and no live chat available,

I'm using a Samsung S10+ but that's not really the point (without wishing to appear rude). If I set a route and don't connect using hotspot or Bluetooth, or it drops out, then I always still had fixed cameras on the route (but not live traffic or potential mobile cameras). Now, after the update, if I don't connect via MH-Spot or BT then I have no cameras at all. I really wish I hadn't done the bloody update

    Hi
    @Naranja666
There has been a change in the Speed cam subscriptions... The Tomtom subscriptions now 'Auto Renew' by default....

Note... If your subscription has expired you will NOT get any Speed cam warning on the device, even the old database is still installed on the device....

See T&C's 4.2 Subscriptions, renewals and Free Trials...

Check... Traffic & Speed Cams are activated....

    Hi @Naranja666

Try a Soft Reset which is something worth doing after all updates, which should be done one at a time, as it helps tidy up the files .

    https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1034215/how-to-reset-your-navigation-device/p1?new=1

If that does not cure it try a Factory Reset.

    Tap Menu
    Tap Settings
    Tap System
    Tap Reset Device..

Before doing the Factory Reset, which does not change the Operating software or Map versions on the device but requires you to set it up as you did first out of the box, log into your TT account on the Tomtom My Drive ]Website and check that your My Places/My Routes etc are backed up there. After the reset they will be restored to the unit when it logs into your My Drive Account.

    Hi @Naranja666

Understand your reluctance to do a Factory Reset but lets just say that based on my experience once I did it from then on no hesitation.

Did the Livechat confirm that your units settings on the TT servers were okay for the cameras?

As long as you check the TT My Drive Website https://mydrive.tomtom.com/ and can see all your My Places/My Routes and any 3rd Party POI files you have added to your device then they should all be restored to your dive after the Reset.

The only items that will be missing will be any Routes you have created and saved on the TT Unit as these do no sync back to your account. If you want these then use a small SD card to export them from your device and then restore them after the Reset.

She did say she was going to 're-send' the cameras to my account and that I should try a soft re-set, which I did, several times. I'll try again shortly.....
