No road detail on Android phone

I have recently updated my subscription but there is no map detail on the Android phone app. There is a little cross against the 2 car symbol in the top righr of the screen

    The App is not connected to the Phone for Live Traffic....
    Check the Bluetooth connection ???

    I reset the app. I can log in, my subscription shows it has been renewed, "My Places" are all there. When I try to set a rout, it tells me "no route possible" at the top of the screen.
    The Bluetooth is on, I re-scanned. Other devices are connected (and tested)

    Further information: I have successfully downloaded and installed maps of Eswatini (Swaziland), Namibia, and west South Africa, but not east South Africa. I live in east South Africa.
    I can set a route in any of the downloaded maps. I guess that there is a problem on the TomTom side relating to east South Africa.
